Masuimi is known for her many tattoos and her interest in several fetishes. She started stripping at the age of 18 to make money after her family had disowned her when she was 17.
On July 8th 2006 Masuimi married her boyfriend, Kerrang! journalist Mörat, in a non-denominational ceremony in Hollywood. They had both of their knuckles tattooed.

In May 2006, Maxim magazine named Kim #98 on its annual Hot 100 List.
In July 2003, Kim signed a three-year contract with William Morris, an American agency representing Hollywood stars such as Halle Berry, Salma Hayek, Kevin Spacey, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Lucy Liu, Jackie Chan, and Reese Witherspoon.
Kim can currently be seen as the character Sun in the television series Lost.
