Loos was born in Madrid, Spain, the daughter of a Dutch diplomat and an English mother. Growing up, she was privately educated. After moving back to Madrid in 2002, Loos worked for an American investment bank, looking after bankers.
Shortly after the newspaper coverage of her relationship with David Beckham, Loos came out publicly as a bisexual, saying "I am indeed bisexual and have been ever since I was a teenager".
In 1999 while in London, she had a series of lesbian lovers, including media personality and glamour model Abi Titmuss and estate agent and TV presenter Emma Basden with whom she would enjoy a long term relationship. When Loos moved to Madrid, she claims to have seduced a previously straight blonde French au pair called Virginie.
